HBO has announced a date for House of the Dragon season 2. The spin-off of Game of Thrones will return to the screens in the summer of 2024.

House of the Dragon season 2 The planning had been in the works for a long time. It has been confirmed that the series, which has been shooting for a long time, has entered the post-production phase. The second season of the Game of Thrones spinoff will air in early summer 2024.

Casey Bloys confirmed the news at an HBO event in New York this morning, where the press was shown the first trailer for the second season. The series, which features a predominantly British cast with Equity contracts rather than SAG-AFTRA contracts, continued shooting throughout the summer and has reached the post-production stage.

Elsewhere, Bloys stated that they hope to begin filming on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: They hope to begin filming The Hedge Knight, the newest prequel to Game of Thrones, in the spring.

This series, based on George RR Martin’s fantasy novels Dunk & Egg, was greenlit in April. Martin and Ira Parker are writers and executive producers of the Game of Thrones prequel series. Ryan Condal, Vince Gerardis and House of the Dragon showrunner/co-creator Ryan Condal will also serve as executive producers.

The story of House Targaryen is told in House of the Dragon, which takes place 172 years before the events of Game of Thrones. The cast includes Paddy Considine, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best and Sonoya Mizuno. Sara Hess, Vince Gerardis, Season 2 director Alan Taylor and Season 1 director/co-showrunner Miguel Sapochnik serve as executive producers, along with Ryan Condal and George RR Martin. The second season will consist of eight episodes instead of ten, and this number will be two fewer episodes than the first season.
