In season 2, House of the Dragon tells the story of the conflict between Team Green and Team Black through a huge ensemble of seemingly endless characters. Combined with the complicated family relationships of the Targaryens, it’s not easy to keep track of everything.
Some viewers may have missed the fact that the first two episodes of Season 2 have already introduced and hidden four new characters who will soon play a major role in the story of the Dragon Dance. Do you already know Hugo, Alyn, Addam and Ulf? Here we will briefly introduce them to you.
House of the Dragon Season 2 introduces Hugo Hammer and Alyn von Holk
In the very first episode, House of the Dragon introduces us to two seemingly unimportant supporting characters who will soon be revealed as new main characters in the fantasy series.
Hugo and Alyn
Hugo Hammer or Hugh Hammer is a blacksmith who asks King Aegon II in episode 1 for a pay raise for the blacksmiths at King’s Landing. His actor, Kieran Bew, is known to series fans as Police Sergeant Big Bill from the martial arts series Warrior.
Alyn von Holk is a man who works for the sea serpent Corlys Velaryon and is responsible for rebuilding his ship. He is played by Abubakar Salim, who played the main role of the android father in the science fiction series Raised by Wolves.

In episode 2 we learn for the first time Alyn’s brother Addam a ship’s carpenter from Holk. He sees the white dragon Sea Smoke in the sky on a beach, with which House of the Dragon is already preparing its future fate. Addams actor Clinton Liberty might be familiar to series fans from Normal People, for example.
The fourth future main character is very well hidden in episode 2. In King’s Landing, a nameless man walks through the streets and is shocked to see the hanging of all the rat catchers in the city. This is the character Ulf Weiß or Ulf White. He is played by Tom Bennett, who played Elton John’s stepfather Fred in Rocketman.

House of the Dragon Season 2 already shows us 4 dragon seeds
The four figures presented are potential dragon seeds. The term refers to Bastard children who carry the blood of the Targaryenbut not officially part of the family. And these are the ones who will soon be eagerly sought out to solve a dragon-sized problem for the Blacks, which was already apparent in Season 2.
Queen Rhaenyra has a lot of dragons. The unclaimed dragons Seasmoke, Vermithor and Silverwing as well as the wild beasts Grey Spirit, Sheep Stealer and Cannibal. But Team Black lacks personnel who can ride the monsters. In the book, Prince Jacaerys Velaryon has the brilliant idea and has dragon seeds searched for. Thanks to their origins they are able to ride dragons.
The rush is huge and so is the number of burn victims. The brothers Addam and Alyn as well as Hugo Hammer and Ulf Weiss will also play a major role. Some of them become feared dragon riders of the Black and significantly influence the course of the dragon dance.
