House Of The Dragon broke the record in HBO history with 10 million viewers
House Of The Dragon opened on the first day with 10 million viewers. The series, which tells the prequels of Game of Thrones and the novel Fire and Blood by Georger RR Martin, also made its way into HBO history. The opening episode of the series was watched by 9,986 viewers on HBO and HBO Max.
House Of The Dragon passed the 10 million viewer threshold on the first day
HBO Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys said how impressed they were with the stats:
“It was great to see millions of Game of Thrones fans come back to Westeros with us last night. House of the Dragon, our passionate cast and crew, poured our soul and heart into this production. We were delighted by the positive response from the fans. George, Ryan, and Miguel Wait to see what else he has planned.”
The series, which describes the prequel to Game of Thrones, was also on the agenda on social media. The hashtag #HouseoftheDragon was unveiled before the drama aired and remained at the top spot worldwide for 14 hours. House of the Dragon became HBO Max’s best opening series in the US, Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe and Africa. HBO also reached its most watched episode since the Game of Thrones finale (2019), which was watched by 19.3 million viewers.
