House of the Dragon fans are eagerly awaiting the Dance of the Dragons – the fiery conflict between Team Green and Team Black with their respective dragons in Season 2 of the fantasy series. Until now, the parent series Game of Thrones and its spin-off were only connected by the prophecy of A Song of Ice and Fire and a certain dagger.
Since the episode The Burning Mill, another dragon connection has become much more concrete, as has now been officially confirmed.
Are the dragon eggs from the House of the Dragon episode the same as in Game of Thrones?
Yes, they are. This theory suspected by fans was confirmed by episode director Geeta Patel in an interview with Mashable:
Those are Daenerys’ balls. All of us who work on this show are huge Game of Thrones fans, so it was very exciting to shoot that scene.
The dragon eggs from which the dragons mothered by Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) emerged around 200 years later Viserion, Rhaegal and Drogon hatch, Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) sends her dragonless stepdaughter Rhaena (Phoebe Campbell) to the Vale and to Pentos. There they become a wedding present for Daenerys in the first season of Game of Thrones. We’d rather not tell you what happens to the fourth egg at this point, as it could be relevant for the current series.
