Crews from four Norfolk County fire stations responded to the fire on Duncombe Road at shortly after 5 am, he said. Police and paramedics also responded to the scene.

Smoke and fire were coming from the basement of the home when firefighters arrived.

“Fire operations are still underway, and we ask the public to avoid the area for now,” Robertson said, adding an investigation is pending.
