Atle Johansen66, fell in love with Åsa Wennström, 71, during Hotel Romance’s second season. In the last episode, they chose to stay in Portugal together, but when viewers got to see the gang gather for a reunion, the relationship seemed to have ended.
When News24 talking to Atle, he talks about what his love life has been like since the cameras stopped filming.

For Atle, Hotel Romantik was a great experience. The first night at home in his own bed after the week of love, he had a dream that he remembers to this day. In the dream he was an albatross with a ten meter wingspan. From his bedroom in Borås, he lifted his wings and flew over the city.
– All the damn pain and doubts about love just disappeared in the dream. I felt so damn happy that I had been on the show. Proud that I allowed myself to love and be loved, Atle tells Nyheter24 and continues:
– I think most people felt that way when they got home.
During the filming of Hotel romance, emotions flared up for the first time in a long time. Right from the start he had an extra eye for Åsa, but she was popular and Atle decided to keep a low profile in the beginning.
– I understand that. She is a wonderful person. She has both inner and outer beauty. There was something about her that made my heart beat faster.

As the week drew to a close, it was a matter of course for Atle and Åsa that they would stay and explore each other. Atle tells Nyheter24 that he was overjoyed at the time, but that there was a question mark that gnawed at the back of his mind even during the sunny days in Portugal.
– I thought it’s a long way to Kiruna, where Åsa lives. Also, I can’t stand the cold or the dark, so that became an obstacle.
The realization of the long distance led to the relationship running into the sand. During the reunion that was shown in the last episode of Hotel romance, the viewers instead got to see Atle flirt with Eva Sterner72. However, there was no relationship with her.
When the gang from seasons one and two then got together, something unexpected happened. Atle hit Monica Sundberg72, who was in Hotell romantik’s first season.
– Sparks flew between us. Maybe it was because it was a grand finale of everything you had been through with emotions, but a lot happened during the reunion, says Atle and adds:
– We had a lot of fun, but it didn’t lead to anything more.
Nor were they alone in being flirtatious during the evening. Atle says that there were many people who became interested in participants who were in another season.
– There were romances between several participants, both between the firsts and the seconds. I don’t want to answer for others, but things have certainly happened.

Today, Atle is single, but he is still in contact with Åsa. Although they are just friends, Atle believes there is still tension between them.
– Only two weeks ago we heard that I should go up to Kiruna and visit her. Then we’ll see if it’s friendship or more. But at the moment we are just good friends, says Atle and continues:
– There is still a bit to sort out. It ended in a special way after the recording.
When Atle looks back on his time in hotel romance, he is satisfied. To this day he feels that he is flying, just like in the dream.
– At the moment, I am an albatross with a ten-metre wingspan who is single. But I am open to meet someone and I hope it will be for life this time. Hotel romance opened that door for me and I’m grateful for that.
