“Russian airspace controls over the Black Sea have detected three air targets approaching the state border of the Russian Federation,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement. The crews of the Russian warplanes determined that the air targets were the RC-135 reconnaissance and electronic warfare aircraft and two Typhoon warplanes from the British Air Force.
“VIOLATION IS NOT THE ISSUE”
After the detection, it was reported that two Su-27 type warplanes belonging to the Russian Air Force took off and headed towards the approaching aircraft. “As the Russian warplanes approached, foreign warplanes made a U-turn away from the Russian Federation state border. The Russian planes returned safely to their own airports. There is no violation of the Russian Federation state border,” the statement said. (DHA)
