It immediately gets heated and tense about the economy, abortions and migration when Donald Trump meets Kamala Harris in the first, and perhaps only, debate before the presidential election in November.

Donald Trump claims that Kamala’s running mate Tim Walz sees it as okay to take the lives of newborns at birth. And that migrants are eating people’s pets in Ohio.

– I warned you that you would hear a lot of lies here tonight, comments Kamala Harris and shakes her head when Trump gives his version of the abortion issue.

Ahead of the hotly anticipated debate, Trump and Harris shook hands for the first time so far, having not even met before but now settling for the presidency.

The first topic of debate was finances and cost of living.

– We know that young families need support, says Kamala Harris and promises both a tax deduction for families with children and support for small business owners.

At the same time, she accuses Trump of only wanting to help those who are already rich, and himself – something Trump denies.

Trump responds by saying to claim that the economy has never been as good as when he was president.

– When I was president, there was basically no inflation. When they were in government, inflation was the highest ever, people can’t afford to buy cereal or bread, says Trump.

If he wins, he will introduce new tariffs against China, says Trump.

– His tariffs led to a huge deficit in the trade balance, says Harris.

The stakes are enormous in the face of the heated debate and are pointed out as even being the one who can decide who gets to take over the White House, which so far is the only one between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris before the autumn elections.
