The criticism against Elsa Widding came after she participated in a conference that according to Expo gathered famous conspiracy theorists.
Education Minister Mats Persson (L) was one of those who criticized Widding.
“Widding shows evidence of a contempt for knowledge that does not befit a member of the Riksdag. It is serious to support conspiracy theories about climate, vaccines and the holocaust. She must now show that she stands up for science,” he writes on Twitter.
Jimmie Åkesson says that he is critical of Widding’s participation in the conference, but that he is also critical of the public criticism in social media from members of the cooperation party Liberals.
