In January this year, the Inspectorate for Care and Care (Ivo) began an inspection of hospital care in all regions, with a particular focus on staffing and the number of care places.
A number of the audited hospitals have already received their supervisory decisions and are facing strong criticism.
In the supervisory decisions, Ivo states that the lack of space in the emergency departments “results in the risk of health care injuries and serious health care injuries” and that several such injuries have already occurred.
All in all, this means that the care providers, i.e. the regions, do not comply with the requirements for good care according to the Health and Medical Care Act, Ivo believes.
Ivo demands that the care providers return with an answer on how they see the shortcomings and what measures have been taken or are planned.
