Hospital: Borne announces 1.1 billion revaluations for caregivers

Hospital Borne announces 11 billion revaluations for caregivers

Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne announced this Thursday, August 31 for more than a billion euros in salary increases for the benefit of caregivers in the hospital, in particular for night work and on Sundays.

These increases announced to the press during a trip to Rouen are intended to respond to the crisis that the hospital system is going through, faced with a shortage of caregivers.

Doctors’ unions have been demanding for several months the outcome of negotiations announced by Emmanuel Macron, who had promised, at the beginning of January, to “open the construction site of the remuneration of night work” and the “permanence” of care (this i.e. on-call and on-call duty). Negotiations had taken place with the Ministry of Health but had been stalled since mid-May.
