The horror sensation from May is already a trilogy.
With X, director and screenwriter Ti West returned to the big screen with his first horror film in almost a decade. West is known for phenomenal horror cinema à la The House of the Devil and The Innkeepers. In X, a 1970s porn shoot escalated horribly.
Ti West’s Horror Trilogy: MaXXXine follows X and Pearl
Shortly after the premiere of the film, West announced that he would be returning to the X Universe: Pearl, which tells the origin story of the protagonist played by Mia Goth, was screened a few hours ago at the Toronto International Film Festival. In this course, the next surprise revealed: MaXXXine.

As The Hollywood Reporter reports, X is now officially a trilogy. A24 has given the green light to the third part of West’s horror series and there is already a first teaser. Goth returns in the lead once again. The plot follows the devastating end of the first part and goes into the 1980swhere Maxine tries to break into an acting career in Los Angeles.
It is currently unclear when MaXXXine will appear. Since filming has not started yet, the film will 2023 at the earliest come to the cinemas. For the time being, however, another question is more interesting anyway, because Pearl has not yet been released in German cinemas. After the reports from Toronto and Venice, where the film celebrated its world premiere, we hope that this will change as soon as possible.
