Horror game Stray Souls trailer
According to its official website, Stray Souls is inspired by modern horror elements, while delivering intense tensions thanks to Unreal Engine 5 and MetaHuman technology. As seen in the latest trailer shared by Jukai Studio today, Stray Souls takes you to the iconic and missed horror game atmosphere of PS2 era horror games with heavy rain, oppressive shadows and smoke screen.
While the reference to Silent Hill is perhaps obvious, the game’s official website also hints at the influence of Dark Souls. Its website describes the gameplay as “a fusion of the classic horror fighting and soulslike genre”. In addition, players will explore Aspen Falls, a small town surrounded by a dense forest. But Aspen Falls is full of unpredictable weather and terrifying creatures to both fight and hide.
To counter the flood waters and terrifying atmosphere of Aspen Falls, players will play Stray Souls’ main character, Daniel, who inherited his grandmother’s home on his 18th birthday. On his way to his grandmother’s home in Aspen Falls, hoping for luck, Daniel becomes aware of a bleak conspiracy revolving around his past, present, and most importantly, his future.
Stray Souls was first announced on Jukai Studios’ official Twitter account in November 2021. A major demo version of the game was made available on Steam in December 2021. However, this demo has been removed from the game’s Steam page. Currently, Stray Souls is listed on Steam and can be added to the wishlist. However, the game does not currently have a store page on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store. More information on the game’s release date and pricing has yet to be revealed.
