Honey surpluses may force growers to shut down

In the past, there has been a shortage of honey, but large harvests from 2021 and 2022, combined with more beekeepers, have resulted in a surplus.

“Then the import of honey is also a part,” says Björn Dahlbäck, chairman of the beekeepers’ national association, to P4 Jönköping.

Shops that sell honey can now not accept more from the beekeepers, who therefore do not get all their honey sold.
