The Ministry of Education seized the General Inspectorate and launched a call for testimonies after accusations of homophobic and sexist abuses revealed in June 2022 by L’Express, then by Mediapart, targeting the prestigious private high school Stanislas in Paris.

The General Inspectorate for Education, Sport and Research (IGÉSR) was “seized on February 22” by the Minister of Education with a request for an administrative investigation, explained to AFP the ministry, confirming information from Mediapart.

“The mission having really started after the February holidays, it is currently following its course with the various usual hearings: rectorate, diocesan management, director of Stanislas, executives of the establishment, trade union organizations and representatives of the parents of pupils”, continues -on rue de Grenelle, adding that “hearings of teachers and students from college and high school are also planned”.

Finally, “a call for testimonials guaranteeing the anonymity of responses has also been launched, addressed to all staff, teachers and non-teachers, as well as to students in preparatory classes, as part of the mission as it is the ‘use, not by the department’.

L’Express had revealed last June, testimonials in support, how the prestigious Parisian establishment, which illustrious students, such as General de Gaulle or Martin Bouygues, have rubbed shoulders with, teaches young girls that they must wear outfits who demonstrate the dignity of their femininity, or be modest so as not to arouse the desire of boys. The private high school, which benefits from public subsidies like all private establishments under contract, also prohibits “small couples” and advocates natural contraception, without mentioning the alternatives. Inès de Franclieu, a teacher in the establishment explains in particular to the students that “natural contraception works very well” and that “condoms are useless”.

In another survey published last summer, Mediapart described “the sexist, homophobic and authoritarian universe” of the Parisian college and high school Stanislas, a private Catholic establishment described as the “best” high school in France. He also cited “the ubiquitous homophobic insults, the speakers close to La Manif pour tous asking for ‘chastity’ for homosexual students, and the members of the Church invited to praise conversion therapy, now prohibited by law”. In a podcast “Defense to film”, the Brut media also pointed out the establishment’s anti-abortion positions and sexist teachings.
