Djurgården went out and set full speed in the first period of the twin derby against AIK on Friday evening. But the payoff did not materialize and instead AIK was able to secure a heavy victory after three quick goals in the second period.

One of the headlines after the match was the injury sustained by Djurgården’s captain Marcus Krüger at the end of the first period. This after taking a heavy hit from Hampus Falk, who, however, avoided any punishment.

After the match, Djurgården’s Michael Holmqvist was tight-lipped about the situation.

– What should I say? I won’t say anything really, he told TV4 and continued:

– Krüger is an important player for us, absolutely. Then I think the guys keep driving, I don’t think we’re on our heels because we lose Marcus, I think we keep working hard. Then Marcus is one of our most important players, so of course it stings.

Krüger completed the first period, but then was not on the ice in the closing periods. However, Michael Holmqvist gives reassuring information about his star.

– It should be good, he sums up.
