Barkov won the Stanley Cup as the first Finnish captain in history with the Florida Panthers. In honor of that, Tappara’s background company Tamhockey and the city of Tampere are organizing a free folk festival for the public at the Tampere arena.

– Winning the Stanley Cup has been my big dream since I was a little boy, and the emotional state caused by that achievement is still hard to describe in words. I am very much looking forward to bringing the trophy to my beloved hometown and I hope that such an opportunity motivates as many children and young people as possible to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams, he says in the press release.
