Peter Forsberg and Markus Näslund reunite at home in Örnsköldsvik.
The duo will compete as a team in a brand new sport.
– It’s bloody fun, says “Foppa”.
Peter Forsberg is one of Sweden’s greatest hockey players of all time. The Swede was a winner like no other and has two Olympic gold medals with Three Crowns to his credit, as well as a Stanley Cup trophy.
The duo reunites
He is also one of the few Swedes to be inducted into the hockey Hall of Fame – and it all started at home in Örnsköldsvik and Modo. Foppa broke through together with peer Markus Näslund during the 90s – now the duo is reuniting.
Namely, the duo will line up as a pair in the padel tournament Strandkaj Open at home in Örnsköldsvik. And Peter Forsberg is humble about the matches.
– I’ve played about ten games this summer and it’s damn fun. But there are those who are better than me, says Foppa according to SportExpressen.
“Stuck on it”
Peter Forsberg’s padel partner, Markus Näslund, says that he is really hooked on the new sport.
– It’s a very fun sport, which provides good training if you want to keep going. Plus it’s a great way to socialize. I’m hooked on padel and I try to play three times a week, he says.
Markus Näslund also believes that he and Peter Forsberg complement each other well on the track.
– We have slightly different playing styles. You notice that Peter has played a lot of tennis over the years. But we also have fun together in padel, he says.
