It was the 21-year-old Hjalmar Albertsson from Ronneby who died in connection with Thursday’s tanker accident inside the flotilla area in Kallinge. Albertsson, who after military service got a job as a fuel soldier, was in front of a tanker when he was hit and died.
Despite immediate efforts to save his life, F17 announced later in the day that he had died from his injuries.
– Hjalmar worked with something he loved, he was happy and was in a place where he really wanted to be. At his workplace, he had already become a valued profile and a beloved friend and colleague, says base unit manager Liridona Dauti.
During Friday, the Swedish flag flew at half mast inside the flotilla area.
