History teacher Jan Willem has aphasia Explain a story I dont

The rehabilitation center Hoogstraat exists 75 years this year. People can rehabilitate at the center if they have had a cerebral infarction, an accident or a congenital disorder, for example. Patients are sometimes admitted or treated on an outpatient basis. In all cases, it is about learning to deal with their disability and being able to function as well as possible in daily life. In total, De Hoogstraat has a bed for 120 people to rehabilitate, of which 19 for child rehabilitation. This means that about 600 revalidants are treated clinically each year. About 6,000 people are helped on an outpatient basis every year.

In the series Bij De Hoogstraat you can read and see the stories of a few revalidants and a rehabilitation doctor.
