In the operations carried out jointly by the Ministry of the Navy (SEMAR) and the US Coast Guard teams in Mexico, a total of 2,400 kilograms of cocaine and 3,512 liters of contraband fuel were seized, carried by 3 boats, off the coast of Chiapas state, located on the southern border of the country. During the operations, 10 people were arrested for drug smuggling.

In the statement made by the Mexican Ministry of Navy, it was stated that in the first operation carried out with the support of the US Coast Guard teams, 1,500 kilograms of cocaine was seized in a small boat off the Chiapas Port, very close to the Guatemala border, and 4 people on the boat were arrested for drug smuggling.

In another operation carried out on 21 February off the Chiapas Port, a total of 900 kilograms of cocaine and a total of 3 thousand 512 liters of smuggled fuel in 53 barrels were seized in 2 small boats.

The Mexican Navy Ministry announced that these operations, which were initiated as a result of intelligence studies, were carried out with the participation of air, land and sea teams, and that 10 arrested people were handed over to the Mexican Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor. (UAV)
