Swedish Defense Minister Pal Jonson made a statement in English on his official social media account and announced that his visit to Ankara was postponed. “Our relations with Turkey are very important for Sweden,” Jonson said.
Minister Johnson said in his statement:
“I met with my Turkish counterpart, Hulusi Akar, yesterday at the US military base in Ramstein, Germany. We decided to postpone the meeting we planned to hold in Ankara until later. Our relations with Turkey are very important for Sweden and we look forward to continuing the dialogue on common security and defense issues at a later date.”
