Risky method gives him a fever – but has given dividends: “I am aiming to win”
Axel Jutterström has a slightly different tactic for Vasaloppet.
During the workout he wears a plastic suit.
“It’s not fresh afterwards, I have to hang it up and flush off at some point,” he says in after five.
Uploading for the big Vasaloppet is in full swing throughout the country. But in Östersund, Axel Jutterström has taken it to a new level. He practices so -called heat training, where you wear a plastic suit during a workout and try to sweat as much as possible.
– The purpose of this is really to regulate the fluid level in the body. What I want to get out of it is to be able to increase the amount of red blood cells and total blood volume.
Risks with the training form
All people get warm and thirsty for intense movement, but with this method it can be risky when sweating increases avalanche. Axel Jutterström must therefore make sure to keep track of the body temperature.
– You get some fever when you do this, but you don’t want to get over 39 degrees. Then you do not feel so good, he says.
Despite the fever and liter with sweat, Axel has received a dividend. The pass, which lasts for fifty minutes, has proven to be a recipe for success for the cross -country skier.
– I’ve been doing this method for a while now and already think it works well for me.
Aiming for profit
Previously, Axel has come in ninth place in the Vasaloppet, but with the help of the training method he hopes for even better results this year.
– I’m aiming to win. But for that to happen, it must flap skiing, shape and everything. But I keep my thumbs for it.
