At the 11th Alaçatı Herb Festival held in İzmir’s Çeşme district this year, the stalls were colored with edible and cucumber herbs collected by the local people from the region. Saying that Şevketi vegetable garden is a very demanding weed, Ali Kumbasar said, “Şevketi vegetable garden is collected with great effort from among huge thorns. Therefore, it is expensive. It has many benefits. Olive oil salad and meat dish are prepared. Nobody knew it in the past, but now everyone knows Professor Doctor Şevketi orchard.” he said.
Fırat Korkmaz, who gave the recipe for Şevketi vegetable garden salad, said, “Şevketi vegetable garden is the doctor of the lung. After collecting, we boil it and add lemon, olive oil and salt. That is all. Everyone loves it,” he said.
