Jenny Rautionaho crashed his 128.5 meter jump on Sunday at the World Cup in Willingen. The man from Rovaniemi was treated for a long time in Mäkimontu and was taken to the hospital for further examinations. On Monday, Rautionaho said on his Instagram account that he will stay in the hospital for another night.
Rautionaho’s personal trainer Tapio Kallungin according to the doctors will decide when Rautionaho can leave the hospital. The situation is monitored daily. Kallunki caught up with his protégé on Monday evening.
– By the way, Jenny is fine and in a good mood when I talked to her. For example, there are no fractures, Tapio Kallunki, reached by phone, said.
Kallunki, who has been influential in ski jumping for a long time in Rovaniemi, has coached Jenny Rautionaho for 16 years. This season has been the most successful for the 26-year-old Rautionaho so far and she has been the number one female ski jumper in Finland. He has scored World Cup points in 13 races this winter, and was 17th in Saturday’s race in Willingen.
Three severe knee injuries
During Rautionaho’s career, there have been serious knee injuries that have required long periods of recovery. Both the ligaments and anterior cruciate ligaments of Rautionaho’s left knee have been torn, and all in all, his left knee has been operated three times.
– Yes, the injuries have taken a long time and affected training. We had to live with them for at least five years, Tapio Kallunki said.
According to Kallungi, there was nothing that could be done in Willingen regarding the fall of Rautionaho.
– The descent was bumpy and soft. The left ski fell at high speed and the repair movement took the other leg under. One ski came off, but the other was left spinning underneath.
