High school students at Möckelngymnasiet in Karlskoga deal with war and conflict in UN role-playing games

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

For several weeks, the students have been preparing to carry out the role play with some going so far as to visit real embassies for research.

The theme of this year’s UN role-playing game is war and conflict, which is very much on the agenda in the outside world right now. During Thursday morning, one of the Ukrainian delegates appealed to the other countries in the room that Ukraine is in need of economic and military support after the invasion from Russia.

31 countries in the UN

Of the 31 countries that were represented, some were more popular than others. Erik Miller was one of those chosen to represent Russia.

“We chose Russia because we wanted to be a big country and get to talk a lot, then we can also get higher grades,” he says.

Maja Svensson, who was one of the Ukraine delegates, believes that despite the heavy topics being discussed, it is fun to carry out the role play.
