A junior high school in Nacka municipality, south of Stockholm, is closed on Wednesday and has police protection on Tuesday due to a rumor on social media about a school shooting on Wednesday.
“The likelihood that the threat will be put into action is considered to be low and the post does not seem to have spread very widely, but we take it seriously and will therefore schedule a home study day on Wednesday,” writes the school’s principal in an email to the parents.
The incident has been reported to the police and the police will increase their presence and visibility in the school area. On Tuesday, security guards will be on site at the school.
– They have gone out to all guardians with information because it is important that safety comes before safety in this case, says Jan Landström, acting head of security in Nacka municipality.
