High cost protection for medicine is increased | SVT News

The Government points out that the state’s costs for high -cost protection in recent years have increased significantly more than patients’ own fees. Nor does it indicate, according to the government, at lower costs for the state in the future.

The Government believes that the increase from 1 July must be made, among other things, in order to meet long -term financing of the pharmaceutical system.

PRO: “pitiful increase”

During the referral period, the government’s proposal has been severely criticized by several authorities and organizations, including the national organization of pensioners.

“It is a pitiful increase from the state’s point of view so drop it for the sake of pensioners,” said Curre Hansson, PRO chairman in Stockholm, this weekend, when Pro together with, among other things, the SPF Seniors, the Schizophrenia Association and the Rheumatics Association demonstrated against the proposal.

A concern from several Referral bodies is that people with low incomes will not be able to afford, or will, withdraw medicine.

– There is a risk, SEK 900 during a one -year period is a major increase. It is a big change and a difficult one, but I believe that the change is necessary to pass the system forward. It is not possible to believe that prices can be squeezed, because it has been done in recent years which has led to a drug shortage, says Acko Ankarberg Johansson.

The opposition’s boot: Focus on taxes

The Left Party Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar believes that there is a robbery of households and accuses the time parties of not caring for “ordinary people’s economy.”

“The prices of food are shining and instead of doing something about the food giants’ profits, the government and the Swedish Democrats participate in the robbery by increasing the price of vital medicine. It is extremely serious, already today many people cannot afford to retrieve their medication, ”Dadgostar writes in a comment on SVT News.

Lena Hallengren, the Social Democrats’ group leader, is surprised that the government has not taken into account the criticism from referral bodies and opposition.

– We think you should look at the opportunities to negotiate drug prices in Sweden or jointly with other countries. It would also have been possible to refrain from lowering the tax for those who have very high incomes and instead ensure that they have drug costs that everyone can afford.
