The whole world is talking about the cyber attack in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. In the unprecedented attack, thousands of pagers exploded immediately after receiving the signal. 9 people lost their lives and nearly 3,000 people were injured in the attack.
FIRST STATEMENT BY HIZBULLAH AFTER THE ATTACK
The first statement came from Hezbollah, which holds Israel responsible for the attack that was announced at the last minute by international agencies.
THREAT OF RETALIATION AGAINST ISRAEL
In a statement made by Hezbollah following the attacks, a message of “retaliation” was given to Israel.
The statement said, “Israel will receive the punishment it deserves.”
It was learned that the Israeli government requested an “emergency meeting” following the explosions in Lebanon.
The meeting, to be held in Tel Aviv, was reportedly to discuss the rising tensions following Israel’s infiltration and detonation of pagers in Lebanon and possible retaliation by Hezbollah.
