The Islamist extremist group Hezbollah in Lebanon fired rockets at Israel on Wednesday in response to an Israeli airstrike that killed a woman and a child.

Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia have shelled each other’s military posts and civilian targets almost daily since October 7, when terror-labeled Hamas attacked Israel.

According to Lebanon’s state news agency, the Israeli airstrike took place on a village in southern Lebanon. On Wednesday evening, Hezbollah responded by shelling a kibbutz in Israel.

Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, said last week that Israel will have to “pay in blood” after a dozen civilians in Lebanon were killed in Israeli military operations.
