Guy Ritchie’s gangster films made Jason Statham known to a wider audience. Soon after, the British actor would become his own brand. Statham established himself as one of the 2000s most reliable action stars in Hollywood – and two film series are primarily responsible for this: The Transporter and Crank. Tonight he will be on TV with both of them.
Jason Statham Movie #1: The action-packed return of Frank Martin in the second Transporter film
Today’s Jason Statham marathon begins with the sequel Transporter – The Mission. Frank Martin jumps in another explosive adventurewhose conflicts are preferably resolved with speeding cars and automatic firearms. Things are pretty quiet at the beginning.

The chauffeur played by Statham is actually supposed to look after the son of a politician. When he is kidnapped, Frank Martin shifts up a few gears and after that there is no turning back. Testosterone until the last minute: Transporter – The Mission is one of the sharpest action hits in Statham’s oeuvre.
Jason Statham film No. 2: Things get even faster with Chev Chelios and the first Crank film
The Transporter sequel flies by, but in the face of the action inferno that Mark Neveldine and Bryan Taylor unleash in Crank, Frank Martin has little to report. Gone is the growling suit wearer: As Chev Chelios, Statham hunts the entire film in survival mode through the streets of Los Angeles.

The thing is: Chev Chelios, a hitman, botched his most recent job and was poisoned as a result. As soon as his adrenaline levels drop, the poison does the rest. From then on, Chelios throws himself from one extreme to the next in order not to die. At the same time, he tries to find the men who did this evil to him.
In a sense, we are experiencing the first peak of Statham’s career tonight on TV. 2005 (Transporter – The Mission) and 2006 (Crank) definitely mark a high point in the work of the action expert, who only proved again at the beginning of the year with The Beekeeper that he can fill cinemas with his name alone.
