Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller (27) is not only one of the biggest streamers on German Twitch, but also internationally known. His American colleague Mizkif has now revealed that he uses him as inspiration for his content.
What kind of situation was that? Over the weekend, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy sat down with Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo. Together they ate spicy chicken wings and answered questions that the streamer had previously collected from his community.
When asked whether AI streamers would one day take over Twitch, they also discussed their personal viewer behavior. Dan Clancy explained that, unlike most users, he doesn’t have any regular streamers that he follows. Rather, he watches one channel and switches to the next after 10 minutes.
Mizkif admitted he takes a similar approach: He checks in on other streamers, steals their ideas, and then moves on to the next one. The American is known for being “inspired” by foreign content and following absolutely every trend.
What was surprising for many viewers, however, was who Mizkif particularly highlighted: the German streamer Kevin “Papaplatte” Teller.
Is it because of the peroxide blonde hair? Papaplatte is often referred to as the “German xQc”.
Papaplatte impresses the boss of Twitch
What did Mizkif have to say about Papaplatte? Mizkif explained that he visits Papaplatte a lot to steal his ideas; he has really good ideas. The streamer also praises his German colleague’s community, saying they are really loyal.
The Twitch boss reacts with interest: He has to take a look at this “Papa Latte” and maybe even meet him at TwitchCon. After Dan Clancy was criticized by streamers for being too far away from the community, he is making a lot of effort to show closeness to content creators.
The Twitch boss also has the German scene in mind and has already spoken to EliasN97, the largest German streamer.
For Mizkif, however, Papaplatte is no stranger; the two have known each other for years and have also streamed together, for example at the Reddit event r/place. On X, formerly Twitter, he even recently hinted that he would visit Papaplatte in Germany.
“Honestly, he’s a bastard, but his content is really good,” said the American streamer in summary about Papaplatte.
The conversation reached Papaplatte, who initially choked up terribly when the language came to him and then reacted with amusement: “What ideas?” he asked jokingly. However, Dan Clancy rejected Papaplatte: He probably won’t come to TwitchCon. You can see his reaction here in the video:
The conversation between Mizkif and the Twitch boss once again makes it clear that Papaplatte is one of the very few German streamers who play an international role, are relevant and even serve as inspiration for content – otherwise you are more likely to see that German streamers are following international trends Take over space.
