At Apex Legends, the developers have now treated themselves to some fun with the players of the heroine “Wraith”. The players of the “interdimensional skirmisher” are considered to be such a bad sweater that the developers made fun of this behavior in the new animation.
What a reputation the players of Wraith enjoy? In the Apex Legends community, players of the heroine “Wraith” are known as “Schwitzer” or Tryhards:
They play very seriously, they always do their best, they really want to win
As the site Dotesports knows, the “sweats” who play Wraith love running around with their cosmetic “heirloom item” and spamming the item’s animation: Wraith draws and spins her weapon, the Japanese wedge-shaped blade Kunai back and forth with pleasure and plays with it.
Developers are secretly changing the animation of the Heirloom
What is the easter egg now? With the new patch, Revelry, the developers have updated the animation of the heirloom.
Now the animations from before are still there, but in addition there are other rare animations.
On a random chance, Wraith pulls out a handkerchief and wipes his forehead with it.
Then she squeezes out the handkerchief and you can tell it was soaking wet from all the sweat.
At about 39 seconds you can see the rare animation:
What’s with the sweat? In the language of gamers, “sweat” means something like: “trying extremely hard”, “playing doggedly and seriously”, “not taking a joke”. Players who gamble like this are also called “sweaters.”
This is often used derogatory by other games in the sense of: “The opponents take it terribly seriously and they sweat while gambling, while we just want to play relaxed, they really break off.”
“Wraith players are all sweaty” is certainly not meant that seriously – in 2019 there was a similar phenomenon at Fortnite. It said: Anyone who wears a certain skin is a terrible sweater.
Destiny: What do Destiny players mean when they say “sweat”?
How do the players see this? Apex Legends players are having fun with the animation on reddit:
