Hero saves the great Asmongold in WoW by killing a nasty troll

Twitch streamer Asmongold experienced a moment in a stream where one of his guild members saved him from a possible death in WoW-HC. This rewarded Asmongold with an immediate promotion.

In his stream on November 21st, one of his guild members amazed not only Asmongold himself, but also his community. A player named Aticis managed to save Asmongold and the other players in the guild through a clever move.

“Brother, I’ll promote him right now.”

How did the player save the streamer? In his stream on Twitch on November 21st, Asmongold played World of Warcraft in HC mode together with members of his guild. The streamer noticed an enemy player who had “flag” himself to get Asmongold and the other members to attack him.

The term means that players mark themselves as ready for PvP and thereby become vulnerable to the other faction. If you attack such a player, you will also flag yourself for PvP and can be attacked and killed. In this case, the much higher level villain would have simply kicked the streamer out of existence. In WoW Hardcore this means the final end of the character.

Asmongold commented:

It’s obvious that this random person here is flagged and I think he’s trying to get us to flag us too so he can kill us. Because [die Mitglieder dieser Gruppe] are level 60 […] and I just don’t want to waste the time.

The player “Aticis” apparently took this as an opportunity to take an unexpected action. When Asmongold explained to his Twitch viewers what tactics the opponent was currently using, Aticis went and eliminated the player.

This means: the player who wanted to set a trap has lost his character. Asmongold burst out laughing and said, “Brother, I’m promoting him right now.”

“No way. “No way, he just knocked him out,” Asmongold then says what many were probably thinking at that moment when “Aticis” quickly eliminated the opponent at level 41.

“What a legend”

This is how the community reacts: The clip, which was uploaded to the YouTube channel Asmongold Clips on November 22, currently has over 550 comments. Opinions differ here.

While one side seems impressed, the other side seems skeptical because in their eyes it could simply be a viewer of the stream:

  • Cinamazing comments: “I love how Asmon immediately knows exactly what happened, and that’s because he’s probably done this to countless people.”
  • “raveboymtc2448” writes: “The guy saved Asmon’s life. What a legend.”
  • “nakano15” notes: “Perhaps this player was previously on the run from an enemy and managed to escape them, then entered the boat without noticing that it had a PvP flag on it. Thought he was safe and went afk.”
  • “Jay-407” writes: “I have a sneaking feeling that the man just wanted to see Asmon and didn’t realize he was flagged.”
  • Here Asmongold promoted a member of his guild, but before that he also kicked someone out. The streamer had to watch as one of his guild members brought another player to ruin in WoW:
