Hero Ebba Årsjö’s honest words – after the gold success in the Paralympics and the brave decision: “Everything becomes more important”

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

Ebba Årsjö has had an eventful season to say the least.
First she won two golds in the Paralympics – and earlier this summer she showed off her leg for the first time in order to help others.
– Everything is becoming more important, she says.

The 21-year-old traveled to China with enormous expectations. When it came down to it, Årsjö showed that she can really handle the pressure, and returned home to Sweden with three medals in her bag.

Showed the leg

There were two golds and one bronze. Perhaps the most impressive was the gold in the slalom barely a day after she crashed in the giant slalom. In Sweden, she was properly praised for her efforts, and a little more than a month ago, she made the brave decision to show off her leg for the first time.

Ebba Årsjö has a muscle impairment in her right leg, which is a side effect of Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome – which she was born with. She chose to display the leg on her Instagram account with the aim of helping others.

After the post on social media, Ebba Årsjö was hugely praised, and received a lot of attention. Just a few weeks ago, she received the Victoria Award – as the first para athlete ever.

“Landed a little”

On Tuesday morning, Ebba Årsjö was a guest on TV4’s program “Nyhetsmorgon”, and talked about the months after the success in the Paralympics.

– It has been almost four and a half months since I was on skis, and received so much attention and prizes. It actually feels, and has landed a little.

Many athletes may find that the great attention in the public eye can be troublesome. Ebba Årsjö, however, thinks the opposite.

– It’s just crazy fun. Mainly it’s everyone who got in touch or came forward, or put up a post themselves and tag me. People who have a disability and want to talk about it, she says and continues:

– Everything becomes more important.
