Moroccan authorities state that over 2,000 people have died after the strong earthquake that hit the country on Friday evening. The earthquake, which was measured at a magnitude of 6.8, has created great devastation. Whole communities have been destroyed, the rescue work is in full swing and the country is appealing for help.
Many may remember the rescue dog Killian who helped search for survivors after the earthquake disaster in Turkey earlier this year. Now the fireman Klaes-Ola Kolberg and the dog Killian have decided to go to Morocco to participate in the rescue work.
– We felt that we did a lot of good last time and we would like to do it again. We have had time to prepare a little more this time than last time, so now we feel really ready to go, says Klaes-Ola Kolberg
Was called a hero after Turkey
In February of this year, Killian made a big effort and found 18 people among the racial masses in Turkey. Klaes-Ola Kolberg says that he believes that the experience from it will help a lot in the work ahead.
– He has learned to be more patient and that he may not always get a clear result every time it happens in practice. So I think he will do a very good job.
