Modification of complementary solidarity health insurance

(THIS F).

From the beginning of January, the interest rate on the housing savings plan (PEL) will increase from 2 to 2.25%. However, the interest rate on this savings account is fixed for its duration, based on the rate in effect when it was opened. In other words, only PELs opened from January 1, 2024 will benefit from the rate of 2.25%.

    The fuel check is evolving

“Following the announcements of the President of the Republic on September 24, 2023, a worker fuel allowance could be paid in 2024 if the price of fuel were to exceed an “alert threshold”. It would represent compensation of €100 per vehicle, i.e. aid of around 20 cents per liter for six months for an average motorist. It would concern 60% of workers who must use their vehicle.

The practical arrangements will be specified later in this article, once the text has been promulgated,” we can read on the government website.

    Driving license at 17

There are changes on the roads too! From January 1, the legal age for taking a driving license will no longer be set at 18 but at 17.

Small speeding violations: no more point deductions

Second change on the roads: small speeding violations will no longer be penalized by a deduction of points on the license. What exactly is a little speeding? They concern overtaking below 5 km/h. The latter will therefore only be punished by a fine ranging from 68 to 135 euros depending on the area of the offense.

Finally, regarding cars, it will now be possible for the most modest households to lease an electric car for only 100 euros per month. To find out more, visit the website mon-leasing-electrique.gouv.fr.

Use of restaurant tickets for shopping

If the possibility of using restaurant vouchers for all food products was to end in 2023, this has been extended by one year. Thus, you will be able to continue to buy non-consumable food products immediately (meat, fish, flour, rice, pasta, etc.) during your shopping, with your restaurant vouchers. On the other hand, this remains impossible for alcohol and non-food products.

    Change regarding waste sorting

From January 1, 2024, all communities will have to offer a solution for sorting biowaste. The latter concern all food items (leftovers, peelings, expired products, etc.) or plants (branches, leaves, grass, etc.). To do this, they will have to install collection points near residents and/or a large separate waste collection facility.

The objectives of this approach are to reduce the amount of trash and produce compost or biogas. However, these objectives seem ambitious since the authorities confide that only 40% of French people should have access to a solution of this type in 2024.

    Extension of the repair bonus

Provided for by the anti-waste law for a circular economy (AGEC), the repair bonus aims to encourage the French to have their broken products repaired, instead of replacing them by purchasing new products.

This financing system will double for the following everyday appliances: washing machine, dishwasher, dryer, vacuum cleaner and television. It will be increased by 5 euros for around twenty other products. 24 other pieces of equipment have also been added to the list and will therefore be affected.

    The extended zero-rate loan

The zero-rate loan (PTZ), which was to disappear in 2023, was finally extended until 2027. However, this will not be available to build a detached house. Only certain people will be able to benefit from it.

Indeed, it concerns: those whose income does not exceed the ceilings set by the Ministry of the Economy; those who wish to buy a new apartment in a tense area; or an old home in a relaxed area, provided that energy renovation work is carried out.
