Even after a thorough cleaning of the bathroom, sometimes limescale marks persist, and bad smells of humidity or pipes quickly return. Have you tried many cleaning products and nothing works? To ensure impeccable hygiene, hotels often resort to simple but effective methods. A trick that is becoming more and more popular in the industry is the combined use of dishwashing liquid and white vinegar to clean the bathroom. This method, although surprisingly economical and ecological, is extremely effective in removing dirt, limescale marks, disinfecting surfaces, but also leaving a clean smell.
Why does this combination work so well? White vinegar, which can be easily found in any supermarket for a very low price, is a powerful natural descaler and disinfectant. Composed of acetic acid, it dissolves limescale, eliminates bacteria and fights mold, common problems in bathrooms, where humidity often reigns supreme. As for dishwashing liquid, it is designed to dissolve grease and dirt. This product is very effective at removing soap scum, water marks, as well as other deposits that accumulate on surfaces such as mirrors, sinks and bathtubs.
The combination of these two products creates a synergy that increases their effectiveness tenfold. The vinegar penetrates limescale stains while the dishwashing liquid takes care of greasy dirt. In a single step, it is possible to disinfect, degrease and descale all surfaces in the bathroom.
How to use this tip? Pour equal amounts of white vinegar and dishwashing liquid into a spray bottle. Shake gently to mix the two liquids well. Spray the mixture generously on all surfaces to be cleaned: taps, shower walls, tiles, sinks, etc. Be careful not to forget the areas where limescale tends to accumulate, such as around taps and in the corners of showers.
For very dirty or limescale-filled areas, leave the mixture to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. This gives the vinegar time to dissolve the limescale deposits and the dishwashing liquid time to tackle the dirt. Using a sponge or soft cloth, scrub the surfaces to remove any dirt and limescale residue. Then rinse with clean water to remove all traces of the product.
