The Florida Panthers are ready for the Stanley Cup final.
The team knocked off Carolina in four straight – and forward Sam Bennett ran over Carolina’s Jaccob Slavin with the hardest tackle of the playoffs.
The Florida Panthers were close to going out of the Stanley Cup playoffs already in the first round. The team, which made the playoffs as the eighth and lowest ranked team, was down 3–1 in games against Boston.
Tkachuk hero of the match
But the Panthers got up, knocked out the Bruins and are now in the finals after four straight wins against the Carolina Hurricanes.
The hero of the match was once again Matthew Tkachuk, who decided the match with just seconds left. Tkachuk now has three match-deciding goals in the last four games.
The Hurricanes were thus overrun in four straight games and just about overrun: star defender Jaccob Slavin went on what the experts call “the hardest tackle of the playoffs”.
It is a clean and proper hockey tackle, which Slavin also thought after the game.
The only question is what the reactions would have been if this had happened in the SHL…
