Jaromir Jagr hadn’t played a game in over 200 days.
He had also opened up about ending his career.
Then he laced up his skates again – and dominated just like usual.
Jaromir I am turns 51 in just a few months, and for a while it looked like there would be no more hockey games for the icon. In recent years, he has played in the Czech club Kladno, where he is also the owner.
Laced up the skates again
Jagr hadn’t played a game in over 200 days, and earlier this fall he opened up about his career coming to an end. He said it’s not as much fun anymore, and when the icon’s father passed away earlier in the fall, everything indicated that there won’t be any more games. But Jaromir Jagr refuses to give up, and his love for the sport and the club Kladno seems to be too great.
In the last week, Kladno has suffered a serious loss of manpower, and when the team, which is last in the Czech top league, was to play against Liberec, people were desperately needed.
– He has trained with us, but it has not been felt that he would join and play now. But we have had eight guys in training all week, there has been an infirmary in the team. There was a bit of panic today and we needed to get some guys in, says Swede Adam Brodecki, player in Kladno to TT.

Incredible comeback
And yes, Jaromir Jagr can still play hockey. Despite the fact that it had been 230 days since he played hockey, and that he opened up that his career might be over, he stepped in and answered for points. It was indeed a 3-7 loss for Kladno, but Jaromir Jagr accounted for two assists in 15 minutes of ice time.
Adam Brodecki scored one of Kladno’s goals in the match, and summed up Jaromir Jagr’s performance this way:
– He goes in and makes two assists, it’s pretty crazy.
However, Jaromir Jagr was clear afterwards that he did not feel super keen to play again. Rather, it was that the team could have been penalized by not having enough players in the game, and that was nothing that Jagr, as owner, wanted to happen.
