Now the experts have to say their word.

When Zlatan Ibrahimovic left European football for American football, not many people thought that the Swede would return. But in the winter of 2020, he stood on the lawns in Serie A again, and began writing a new chapter in Europe.

Great importance

A little over two years ago, the Swedish superstar would lead his AC Milan to his first league title since 2011. “Ibra” has admittedly been injured during the season, but when the competition year was summed up, he is listed for eight league goals – third best in the internal shooting league.

But the Swede has been enormously important off the field. Milan had one of Serie A’s absolutely youngest troops, an average of 26 years, and the Swede’s routine and experience cannot be underestimated.

When Milan secured the league title, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been widely praised around the world, and several of his teammates have talked about the striker’s great importance.

But if we back the band a little more than two years, it sounded totally different in several places. Especially in England where “Ibra” was properly sawn in connection with his presentation to Milan.

– I might miss the big picture here. But what will Zlatan return to Milan and do? He is 38 years old who has not played since the playoffs in MLS, says an expert in ESPN’s broadcast and continues:

– If someone says to me: “We will build new”. Zlatan is 38 years old! What is he going to do in Milan and do ?, he asks his studio colleague.

– It can only be for his (Zlatan’s) ego. He knows his best-before date has expired.

Two years later, Zlatan is there with the Serie A title, and the so-called experts have really had their say.
