Here you pay SEK 220000 for wine tasting with celebrities

70 people are included in an exclusive wine club where you can drink wine with celebrities as well as wine connoisseurs such as LeBron James and Danny Devito.

– Billionaires come here and ask how much it costs. “$20,000, a million dollars, I don’t care” they might say, says the wine connoisseur Timothy Parks.

Not impressive

But that doesn’t impress the exclusive club.

– It’s the fastest way to not be invited, he says.

The wine club is located in New York and has several super rich among them. But the aim is not to become a rich man’s club.

– All we care about is drinking good wine, appreciating it and discussing it. But also to have a good time and not be snobs, he says New York Post.

The celebrities do not have to pay anything to visit the club.

It’s easy to think it’s a bit of a contradiction. An association that has more than SEK 200,000 in entry fees seems undeniably exclusive. But that may have been the explanation of the success story. Instead of becoming another rich man’s club, they are trying to build a brand around their “no a-holes policy”; loosely translated as the “no crappy boots rule”.

The band Chainsmokers and several rap stars are also members of the exclusive club. LeBron James, the aforementioned basketball star, is already known as a wine connoisseur, which, among other things, the sports channel ESPN wrote about.

At Vintners in New York, he is called a “wine-knowing supercomputer”.

What everyone from Hollywood celebrities to sports stars in the group can be sure of is that no celebrity photographers will show up and disturb.

In addition, the wine enthusiasts themselves do not sit with their mobile phones and Instagram about the meetings.

– The mobile phones can stay in the pocket, we are here to meet each other, says Timothy Parks.

“Guaranteed beautiful types”

Visitors enjoy drinking wine with “people who are guaranteed to be fun to hang out with,” he says.

But if you’re keen to join, you’ll probably have to wait.

“Don’t call us, we’ll call you”

To become a member, it is not enough to send an email.

– You do not apply for membership. We invite you, Parks told the New York Post.
