Here you get a 5000 fine if you leave dog

The authorities in the Italian city of Bolzano have grown tired of piles of poo that our animal friends leave behind. Therefore, they have created a new database that will register the DNA of the dogs in the region, reports Sky News.

Registration will be mandatory from the end of March. In total, there are around 40,000 dogs to be registered, of which 10,000 are already registered.

Dog owners who do not pick up their poo will be fined

The database will allow dog poo that is not picked up to be DNA tested and then traced back to the owner. The penalty for not picking up your dog’s poo is a fine of SEK 500 to SEK 5,000.

– Bolzano receives a few hundred complaints every day from residents about the neglect of public places. More than half of the complaints are about dogs, say officials Paolo Zambottoto Sky News.
