Here the sun has shone most this summer

The summer is coming to an end, and in Nyhetsmorgon the winner of this year’s solar peak was presented, which compiles which Swedish cities received the most sun.

Visby topped the list with 613 hours of sunshine between 15 June and 9 August, ahead of Öland’s northern tip on 580 hours of sunshine, and Karlskrona on 557.

Sunny in the southeast, in other words. Something that does not surprise meteorologist Elisabeth Danielsson.

– They are not so surprised. We know that it is in this corner that it is the sunniest here in the summer.

– The numbers are very similar from last summer.

Rainiest in Lapland

On the other hand, it has been the rainiest in Lapland’s Jokkmokk, with 271 millimeters of rain between July 20 and August 2.

She sums up the summer weather broadly as follows:

– It has been a bit off and on and rather mixed weather, but still a perfectly fine summer.

Nice weather around the corner

For next week, a high pressure is expected to come in from the southwest which will stretch up towards the country with temperatures up to 23-24 degrees in the middle of the week.

– On Wednesday we will see really nice summer temperatures before it turns a bit on Thursday.
