During the Cold War, there were large stockpiles of food intended to deal with crises. It has been discontinued for a long time, so the question is:
What will we eat if the war or crisis comes?
Recently, an investigator appointed by the government presented a number of proposals for immediate measures. One of the suggestions is that the public should be encouraged to have enough food for at least one week’s consumption at home.
In addition, institutions such as schools and nursing homes must be able to provide food even in crisis conditions – a challenge that involves preparing up to three million meals every day.
Taco mince on insect larvae
Currently visited a high school in Södertälje where the school cafeteria is testing new recipes intended for crises.
The very popular dish tacos is on the menu, but it’s just a small detail – the taco mince is made from insect larvae.
The students get to learn that insects are both climate-smart, useful and that the little animal lived a good life.
But the new kind of taco mince gets a mixed reception from the high school youth.
See the students’ reactions in the clip above.
