There was a technical hassle for a while before the robot got on the right track when it came time to bake waffles for the visitors.
– A position had changed so the robot dropped the fork when it was going to put it back. Then it fell to the floor and cracked, because it’s just 3D printed plastic. You may have to make a reinforcement for the upcoming version, says Jens Lindberg, who is behind the invention.
Make a waffle in 160 seconds
On weekdays, the home-built robot is in a garage in Harrbäcken outside Piteå. It was 8-year-old Selda who ordered it from her father when she was craving waffles.
There has been a lot of crispy food in the family because the robot fixes the perfect waffle in 160 seconds. It also did that today at Teknikens hus in Luleå – where the public could see the wonder and at the same time enjoy the dish on its very own day on March 25.
– There has been an enormous amount of interest in the robot, says Jens Lindberg.
In the video you see when the robot bakes waffles and then the owner tells what new abilities the robot will get.
