Tima Moberg has been stuck on the fourth floor since lightning struck the elevator last Sunday.
Today, the emergency services helped her get out, just in time for her son’s graduation party.
– I am teary-eyed and so grateful that they managed to fix this. It is emotional, she tells TV4 Nyheterna.
Tima Moberg is completely dependent on oxygen around the clock and has been in a wheelchair for several years.
When the elevator was knocked out on Sunday, she was stranded.
She describes the last few days as panicky, especially as her son graduates today – a day they’ve been planning and fixing for months.
But then at 3 pm today, an hour before the spring, four men and a woman from the rescue service came to the apartment.
– My assistant and sister filled up with liquid oxygen and we slowly descended. I held the rescue service guys and then the others carried the wheelchair down, says Tima Moberg.
Helping her up again
In total it took about ten minutes to get down.
– We stopped on each floor so that I could rest on the wheelchair and catch my breath.
The rescue service will also help Tima back home after the celebration. The action is not one of the usual.
– This is nothing they normally do, they said it is a special situation. I am so grateful, says Tima Moberg.
