Here, the queen helps with the Christmas baking at My’s pastry shop

Pastry chef My Feldt got a real shock when she received a call with an unusual request.
Queen Silvia wanted to help with the Christmas baking – and came to visit the patisserie shortly afterwards.
– At first we thought it was a joke, says My Feldt in Efter fem.

When My Feldt, who owns a patisserie in Halmstad, received a call with a request for a private baking course before Christmas, she initially said no. She didn’t have time to do it now at Christmas time.

But when the caller hinted that there would be a royal visit, she quickly changed her mind, which Hallandsposten was the first to report on.

– They then said that it was the queen who was coming. Then you say yes, says My Feldt in Efter fems Sverigesvepet.

The Queen, who turns 80 on Saturday, was in the area on private business and chose to stop by.

– I got so stressed and was about to pee on myself. We were super nervous. We thought it was a joke at first.

“She has talent”

And Queen Silvia was happy to help with the Christmas baking. My says that the queen was nice, warm and curious about the patisserie’s history.

– She has talent. We baked both sourdough bread and fluffy cats. She thought it was fun to have her hands in the dough, she says and adds:

– She was very interested in what we were doing.

The buns made by the queen were then sold in the bakery, without the guests knowing that they were baked by royal hands.

– It was a feeling of unreality. A chance you only get once in a lifetime, says My.
