– He has exposed the passengers in the passenger car and also other unknown persons during the journey to life-threatening danger with his driving. It went at a very high speed, says Chief Prosecutor Jim Westerberg at the Special Prosecutor’s Chamber.
Extremely high speeds
The pursuit of a motorcyclist who was suspected of traffic violations went at high speeds on Götgatan and Söderledstunneln on August 25 last year. Partly, the police car was driven on a one-way cycle lane, at a later stage the driver drove 120 km/h on a single-lane road section in the Söderled tunnel where the speed was 50 km/h.
The plaintiff could have been seriously injured
In connection with the civilian police car colliding with the passenger car on Hornsgatan, the police car drove against a red light at about 70-80 km/h where the speed was 30 km/h.
– If the passenger car had not had side airbags, the passengers in the car could have been seriously damaged, says chief prosecutor Jim Westerberg at the Special Prosecutor’s Chamber.
The police are now charged with negligence in traffic, causing danger and misconduct. The Personnel Responsibility Board has not yet come up with an opinion on whether the policeman will be separated from his job if he is convicted.
