There are bad free kicks – and then there are bad free kicks.
And this one from Tunisia might be one of the worst we’ve ever seen.
Proper free kick variations can really result in the most beautiful goals that can be scored on a football pitch. Teams spend endless hours practicing different variations to get the absolutely perfect free kick.
Could be a parody
The free kicks have also developed enormously in recent years. Several new variations are tested every season, and you are sometimes amazed at the incredible creativity of the teams. But the many variations can also become far too complicated, and the entire free kick can become a huge travesty.
And it’s usually common for free-kick shooters to just take a couple of determined steps forward and hit the ball, hoping to outsmart the goalkeeper. Pumped up with, for the moment, confidence can make a player pull towards goal from any distance.
Does not reach the goal
This free kick, which can be seen below, probably does not qualify for any list of the most practiced variations. But as described above, this player from the Tunisian league gets an incredible feeling, and takes in from the toes, far from the opponent’s goal, and it just becomes pancake of everything.
